Welcome to the About France page – the place to come if you want to know more about what is happening in France this year. If you enjoy art, head down to Provence for the Year of Cezanne centenary celebrations in Aix en Provence this summer. More than 100 works of art will be brought from around the world and many of the places where the artist lived and worked will be open to the public. If you want to follow in the footsteps of Cezanne and other famous artists who were inspired by the local landscapes and light, the Painters’ Provence Route is now open, visiting Arles, Avignon and Nice among others.
